In recent years, we have evolved from a traditional dress model to a much more casual, more flexible and, above all, more comfortable model. The foregoing does not imply that there is no dress code in the office, which will be more or less formal, depending on the sector in which we work.
Business casual is a style of dress with different definitions. It is mostly understood as a combination of a professional style including a suit and shirt with elements and modifications of a more informal style.
Bearing this in mind, we should not opt for styles of dress that are too sporty or marked. We must bear in mind that, no matter how modern the office is or how avant-garde the activity is, there are certain clothes or styles that are inappropriate for going to our workplace and even more so for a business meeting, such as shorts, flip-flops, caps or torn t-shirts or with serigraphs or messages of political, sexual or ideological content.
An example of business casual for men is an open suit without a tie, with a shirt with a more open collar than in a traditional style and shoes that are not loafers, but that are elegant on the whole. Either pants (or chinos), a shirt, dark socks, and dress shoes. Combining all this with a jacket, especially when you have a meeting in perspective, is a guaranteed success.
Another example of business casual for women is the combination of a simple blouse using a closed skirt above the knees and shoes that are not high-heeled or with low heels. Or a turtleneck sweater, a blazer and pleated trousers, or even elegant jeans with heels. Also a professional dress without too much neckline and with a high quality fabric, with slightly more colorful colors.
So now you know, choose your look according to the company culture and the work commitments of that day and TO THE OFFICE!!
